Two Sisters Quilts

When: March 1, 2011
Where: viewable online

http://community.webshots.com/user/QuilterBridget

This is the website where the quilts can be viewed.  There has been overwhelming support from the WOSEP community and the sisters are very grateful.  The teacher is undergoing a mastectomy early next month.  Following that will be the chemo. Through it all her biggest concern is for her students who can't understand why she isn't there with them every day.

The quilts will also be available at the next tea to be held on the first Sunday in May. Linda Andron is the sponsor and more details will be posted to WOSEP as soon as they are confirmed.

To purchase one of the beautiful quilts contact Jane njdubovy@yahoo.com

When: March 6, 2011
Where: www.blogtalkradio.com/specialkidschooltalk

Ask the Expert—Parents of highly intelligent kids who struggle with learning are often confused about the challenges their child faces.  A “masking” phenomenon often occurs; their child’s high intellect is partly hidden by learning problems, and learning difficulties partially conceal their child’s true level of intelligence. This can result in two problems: the child’s intellectual gifts are not nurtured and developed, and learning disabilities may not be properly addr! essed.  Dr. Barbara Klein, specialist in twice exceptional (2E) kids, joins Dr. Kari Miller to discuss the challenges parents of 2E kids face:  identifying 2E kids, how parents can find a good school and obtain necessary accommodations, improving skills, and helping children deal with the unique emotional issues they face.  Be sure to call in with your questions, submit questions during the broadcast via the chat room, or email questions before the broadcast to Dr. Miller at klmiller555@sbcglobal.net.  If your highly intelligent child struggles with learning, you don’t want to miss this show!  Dr. Klein’s website:  www.DrBarbaraKlein.com.
